  1. Population and dissenters: We have about fifty eight families in our parish. We have no dissenters of any denomination, there is not any licenc'd or other meeting-house of dissenters in our Parish.

  2. Public or charity schools: We have not any Publick or Charity school endowed or otherwise maintain'd in our parish.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: We have no Alms house, Hospital, or other charitable endowment nor any lands or tenements left for the repair of the Church, [illegible deletion] We have fifty pounds left by ye Lady Mudyford of Maristow the Interist of which is to be paid to ye poor in bread two shillings worth every fortnight or one shillings worth every week.   4. Residence upon cure: I do not reside personally upon my Cure. I reside upon St Budeaux, according as your Lordship was Pleased to dispense with me, when I took ye oaths for Admission to Samford annexed to Shaugh, in September 1743.

  5. Curate: I have a Residing Curate upon Shaugh. His name is Merefield. He is duly qualified according to ye Canons. He does not live in ye Parsonage House; which is bad & inconvenient and belongs to ye Impropriator to Repair. I allow him thirty five Pounds a year.

  6. Divine service at other churches: I perform Divine Service likewise every Lord's day at Samford Spiney.

  7. Frequency of divine service: Divine Service is perform'd here once every Lords day and once at Sampford Spiney, alternately and all other days appointed by Act of Parliament.

  8. Frequency of communion: The Holy Sacrament of ye Lords Supper is administerd at Shaugh Seven times a year (viz) twice at Easter, twice at Whitsuntide, twice at Christmas & once at Michaelmas.

  9. Number of communicants: We have about fifty or sixty Communicants in our parish and there was about that number Easter last past.

  10. Catechising of children: The Children are Catechizd in this Parish twice a year in the spring and fall, and ye Parishioners are Careful in sending them to be instructed.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: We have no Chapel within our Said parish. The Answers here given are, to ye best of my knowledge, true Answers to ye several Queries above mentioned. Thomas Alcock.
